ABOUT VIOLIN LESSONS

Elana offers her students world class training and technique  in Paramus NJ and Livingston Township NJ.  She has sought out and studied with some of the greatest sounding violinists and teachers in the history of the violin.  She has also intensively studied the techniques of the greatest soloists ever to exist.  Few have done this, and therefore the technique she offers is special and rare and can't be found almost anywhere else.

She emphasizes a strong technique, sound basics, and attention to detail in her lessons.  She teaches the Russian Bow Arm.  And is very particular about what to look for when practicing.  Her style is well suited for an advancing player looking to take their playing to the next level.  At the same time, as a teacher she nurtures and encourages and also works well with beginners and young children.  The lessons are tailored according to each student's needs and goals.

As a teacher she has over 20 years' experience teaching students of all ages and levels.  Her students have played as concertmaster, principal violist, and section players in Region I orchestras, New York Youth Symphony, and Bergen Youth Orchestras.  Some of her students have majored in violin and viola performance and gone on to have careers.
